I obtained a letter from Medicaid saying his life insurance coverage coverage, which was about $47,000 and had a money worth of $3,800, needed to be surrendered. They mentioned I might have given it to the funeral house, spent down the cash for his bills, had my husband put the coverage in my title (which might have made me lose my Medicaid) or give up it to Medicaid. I used it to pay bank card debt and I’m left with nothing. Was Medicaid proper that I ought to have turned it over to them?
