20 college students awarded hispanic latino fee of michigan scholarship


LANSING, Mich. (WILX) – The Hispanic Latino Fee of Michigan (HLCOM) awarded $20,000 to twenty college students by their Hispanic Latino Fee Scholarship.

Recipients of the scholarship are college students at present enrolled in a Michigan-based highschool, school, college, or different acknowledged greater schooling establishment who plan on using the funds for postsecondary schooling.

“The $1,000 scholarship offers Hispanic and Latino college students with added monetary stability to assist them obtain their schooling and profession desires,” Workplace of World Michigan Director Poppy Hernandez stated. “By this scholarship and our work to make Michigan a welcoming state, we’re dedicated to offering ongoing help that helps empower and have interaction all people to make Michigan a house for alternative.”

Over 80 purposes have been submitted, and picks have been made primarily based on student-submitted essays, grade level averages, letters of advice, and neighborhood service expertise. Every of those college students will obtain $1,000 in scholarship funding to help their academic attainment targets.
